Then, how about doing some quizzes. (What?) Calm down, children. It’s also fun because it is--- online quizzies. I find some great websites and it is really interesting, just like playing a game. It can certainly help you to improve your English. Let’s check it out!

http://a4esl.org/a/v.html, English vocabulary quizzes<img src="/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":>>" class="middle" border="0">
This website consists of different kinds of questions, such as crosswords, questions about animals, colours, buildings, adjectives and nouns. The questions are divided in different levels (level 1-6), so you can choose the level you like.
When you answer the questions, marks will be counted automatically (Just like playing TV games, right? Let’s see how many marks you can get). If you answer the questions incorrectly, it will show you the right answer immediately. So it is fun and your English will improve a lot!

<img src="/img/smilies/icon_arrow.gif" alt="=>" class="middle" border="0">If you know other languages, such as Japanese, German and French, you must click the “Bilingual Vocabulary quizzes” part. I tried the Japanese-English part and it was FUN!!! It asked me what’s the word of plant, colour, clothes etc in Japanese, and I had to answer in English.

http://www.manythings.org/fq/, Flash quizzes for ESL students
A great website! Just like the previous one, your English ability will be tested and marks are counted. But it is fun! It has Multiple choice questions, True or false questions and Matching etc.

Okay! Let’s see how many questions you can answer correctly. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.
Good luck!
Ganbade ne! (Japanese, means work hard)

One of my favourite cartoon figure: Doraemon, do you like him as well? If you try the quiz, you will as happy as Doraemon

Enjoy!

Do you find that reading is boring? Some children do but they like watching television and browsing the Internet (Maybe because of the sophisticated moving scenes and sound effects, right?). However, now you can find an interesting way for reading: reading an e-book.<img src="/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":>>" class="middle" border="0"> It is an interactive book. You have to click it when you are reading it. Of course it has special sound effects and animation. Do you want to read an e-book now? Alright!
I would like to suggest you a very funny e-book “Dave the Brave meets a big strange monster” ( http://www.nickjr.com/home/dave_the_brave.jhtml by Dave Palmer).

The story was about a mouse called Dave who wants to go home to meet his dad. Along his way, his friends such as the bunny and bird warned him that there was a monster ahead. “It was big and orange. It was round, and had big round eyes. It had a long tail. It could even fly!” <img src="/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif" alt=":>" class="middle" border="0">
So, what will happen next? Will Dave have any danger? Please read this interesting e-book!

Remember to design your own monster at the end of the story. Right, you can create one. If you want to share your great design with me, please feel free to send it to me.

I went to Durham when I was a tertiary student. Durham is located at the northern Britain. There are many cathedrals and castles. It is a beautiful and quiet place. (It is really a good place for visit) I went there because of immersion. Right, I had a lot of chance to practice my English there. I had lessons there, and went to field trips on every Saturday. It was really fun. However, what impressed most was the time that I lived with my host family. Everyone of us had to live with our host family, so that we could have more chance to practice oral English. Also, I learnt some northern accent there. For example, “tara” which means goodbye. My host mom said “tara” to me for every morning.

Let me introduce my host mom to you. Her name is Elsie, a very nice and beautiful lady. She works in a pharmacy. She has one son, and I guess that is why she knows how to take care of others. I remembered that I was ill at the first week. I was very scared because I must see a doctor every time when I got ill in Hong Kong. I knew that it was not common for people there went to visit a doctor, unless they got seriously hurt. Some people can just buy some medicine from pharmacy and soon they will be fine, but it’s a pity that I cannot. I told this to my host mom and she gave some medicine to me based on her experience.

Surprisingly, I got well after I took the medicine for a few days. It was really a magic. I was so grateful to Elsie because I need not to be afraid when I am ill next time even I am abroad.
I learnt that I must give a try before I say “no”. Children, do you believe in magic? Please have a try before you say that English is difficult and boring. <img src="/img/smilies/icon_arrow.gif" alt="=>" class="middle" border="0">English is fun! Believe yourself and make it happen.

For my hobbies, I like sports, listening to music, learning Japanese. Right, I am interested in Japanese culture very much. When I had my teaching practice a year ago, I conducted a simple survey in the class. The surevy was about the subjects they liked and disliked...It showed that many of them did not like English very much. They found that English was not so easy to learn. So I tried to play some English activities with them. Luckily, they found that it was 'fun, fun, fun' So, I'll try to add some 'fun' elements to your class. Enjoy! Welcome all your advice...and...If you have any difficulties in learning English or any others, please bring your problem to me. I'll be there for you
